SOCCER: Lady Pirates claim 3-0 soccer win over Kilgore

The Pine Tree Lady Pirates remained unbeaten in District 16-4A with a 3-0 victory over Kilgore Tuesday night at Pine Tree Stadium.

Nancy Hemmen scored in the first half, and Stephanie Casto and Anne Lundby added goals in the second half as Pine Tree improved to 8-0 in district and 16-3-3 for the season.

Hemmen scored just 68 seconds into the match on a cross from Tiffany Gee. Casto scored a headed goal off a Carolyn Leatherman free kick 15 minutes into the second half. Lundby headed in a Jaclyn Friday cornerkick with eight minutes left in the match.

Pine Tree outshot Kilgore 23-11. Shelli Small made eight saves in goal for the Lady Pirates, who visit Nacogdoches on Friday.

The Pine Tree junior varsity rolled to a 3-0 win over Kilgore.
