SOCCER: PT girls claim 3-1 win over Henderson

In a matchup of the top two teams in District 16-4A, the Pine Tree Lady Pirates notched a 3-1 win over the Henderson Lady Lions here Tuesday night at Pine Tree Stadium.

Amy Holman, Ashley Johnson and Jaclyn Friday scored goals as the Lady Pirates built an impressive 3-0 lead 10 minutes into the second half.

Johnson, Holman and Nancy Hemmen assisted on the goals as Pine Tree improved to 5-0 in district play. Henderson falls to 4-1.

Whitney Gill scored for Henderson nine minutes into the second half.

Stephanie Lynch made five saves and Shelli Small four as they again split time in goal for the Lady Pirates, who visit Lufkin Hudson on Tuesday.
