Pine Tree 1, Kilgore 0

KILGORE – Stephanie Casto scored the game's lone goal as the Pine Tree Lady Pirates remained undefeated in District 16-4A play with a 1-0 win over Kilgore at R.E. St. John Memorial Stadium.

The win moves Pine Tree to 3-0 in district and 11-3-2 overall.

Casto's goal came off a freekick by Carolyn Leatherman, who lofted the ball to the back post where Casto scored from close range 10 minutes into the match.

Pine Tree dominated play, outshooting Kilgore 34-4. Goalkeepers Shelli Small and Stephani Lynch split time for the Lady Pirates.

Amy Holman played one of her best games in the midfield, according to Pine Tree head coach Daniel Rich.

Next up for the Lady Pirates is a home contest against Nacogdoches on Tuesday.

In the junior varsity contest, Pine Tree and Kilgore finished in a 0-0 tie.
