Host Pine Tree, Longview among winners in Junior Muddog Classic

Pine Tree A, Longview, Whitehouse and Mount Pleasant advanced to winner's bracket play Thursday in the opening round of the Junior Muddog Classic tournament at Pine Tree Stadium.

The Pine Tree A squad blanked Pine Tree B, 3-0, while Longview picked up a 4-0 win over Henderson, Mount Pleasant edged Jacksonville 2-1, and Whitehouse defeated Hallsville 2-1 in a shootout.

Saturday's schedule has Hallsville facing Henderson at 8:30 a.m. and Jacksonville taking on the Pine Tree B team at 11:30 in consolation matches. Longview faces Whitehouse at 10 and Mount Pleasant meets Pine Tree A at 1 p.m. in winner's bracket play.

A courtesy match is set for 2:30, followed by the consolation finals at 4:30, third-place game at 5:30 and the championship match at 7.
