Pirates win in shootout

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS Jonathan Zimicki scored an equalizing goal with just five minutes left in regulation play, and then added one of Pine Tree's three goals in a shootout as the Pirates opened play in the fifth annual Omni- America Kick-Off Classic'' Thursday with a 3-2 win over Boswell at the Birdville ISD Athletic Complex.

The Pirates, now 1-1 on the young season, will face McKinney at 3:45 p.m . today in the tournament semifinals.

Boswell scored in the first half to take a 1-0 lead, and the Pirates trailed by that margin until Zimicki forced overtime with his goal late in the contest.

In the shootout, Zimicki, Tony Guillen and Jordan Dubois all scored for the Pirates. Boswell scored twice, missed once and Matt Cain came away with a save on another attempt for the Pirates.
